Way of the Vision

And the coast descended unto the river Kanah, southward of the river: these cities of Ephraim are among the cities of Manasseh: the coast of Manasseh also was on the north side of the river, and the outgoings of it were at the sea:

10 Southward it was Ephraim's, and northward it was Manasseh's, and the sea is his border; and they met together in Asher on the north, and in Issachar on the east.

11 And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher Bethshean and her towns, and Ibleam and her towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Endor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and her towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns, even three countries.

Joshua 17:9-11

And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.

27 And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.

1 Kings 15:26-27

And after Abimelech there arose to defend Israel Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar; and he dwelt in Shamir in mount Ephraim.

2 And he judged Israel twenty and three years, and died, and was buried in Shamir.

Judges 10:1-2

And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.

1 Chronicles 12:32

Moreover they that were nigh them, even unto Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, and meat, meal, cakes of figs, and bunches of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep abundantly: for there was joy in Israel.

1 Chronicles 12:40

From there, the role of leadership has gotten even more strange. You might wonder how at first. Just you wait. It'll get better before you even know what to say. Do me a favor though, and try not to laugh along the way. Issachar lay to the east, as the map went. It was probably more towards the Jordan if I had to guess. Technically that's where east is if I judged from where they were standing then had to point. Drawing the compass from there, then, should be relatively easy. Perhaps you might remember old Jacob's blessing given before of the strong ass crouching down between two boulders. You'll see that before you hear it, I bet. Then again, it's no betting matter, now, is it? Also, dear old father Jacob wasn't trying to be funny on his deathbed, not at all. There came a time during that of the kings, when one arose to make all Israel stumble. He was one of the ones who didn't do well, you see. One of Issachar's descendants noticed him first and immediately made plans to pick him off if you will. If you won't, that's fine too.

Really, only removing him from his position would do. Back in that day though, they had to do both to get rid of the problem as well as the nonsense along with it. Notice though Issachar's place. It's right in the middle of everything, isn't it and with good reason. It's at times like these that some strong men are needed who knows just what they should do. More than that, they know what everybody else should do too and don't mind telling them all about it. Much to everyone's surprise, the people actually listened. Then again, don't you just love seeing the blessings that the dear Lord has given. Issachar it seems was there all along to help bring the situation on ind. Along with them and the other few tribes who went with David, came the blessings of God back in the house. Really though, it's all a matter of the seeing, wouldn't you think? A little vision, be it good or bad, can do much to aid in the world. That's why you have got to be so careful though that you get your light from the right source. If not, your whole body will be quite dark indeed. Then again, if all were the vision, then where would the hearing have been? You don't have to answer that though.
