1 Samuel 9:15-16
Now we come to the last, Benjamin, which also turns into the start of the first of the year. The months always turn round to meet in the middle. It just so happens that they do so at the intersection of Benjamin and Zebulon. This is right where the power of the cup and the portal meet. The portal then sees the ushering in to other worlds both as entry and exit. There's a very good reason for that too. Here's the problem though as we turn from one thing to the next. The situation becomes suddenly not funny anymore. In fact, if there are any small children that ought not hear the following discussion, perhaps they should be removed.
There's a story told of a certain issue within the tribe of Benjamin. On the whole, they're a relatively peace-loving tribe. Being so close to the exit though, some bad things are bound to enter once in a while. This is the tribe then that had it bad for a time. A certain Levite went up to seek shelter with his concubine. One night though, they were attacked by multiple people. The concubine died of her fright and the Levite who was with her was so upset he hacked up her remains. Then he sent bits and pieces of her unto all the twelve tribes. The next day when morning had come, all the people went to inquire of the Lord. The Lord finally said, sure, and had them go and do battle one at a time. There was much killing of this, that, and the other.
Suffice to say though, that when God chooses someone, nobody can deny or defeat that. Similarly, when you have drunk deep of his cup of oneness with him, he will make it so all others have to give part. That's just what had happened at this time here. In fact, things were looking pretty bad for Benjamin, though the chiefest in war. The children of Israel were sure that they'd have to wipe a tribe out. Isn't it funny though, the very tribe they tried to remove was the one that stayed and the one they didn't, was the one that was reckoned with the rest of the people. Back to the story though, we're getting off-track.
The people had also sworn to curse the giving of their daughters in marriage to the men of this tribe. I mean, imagine going to marry someone who is very likely drunk with what of the wine they consumed. They're drunk and under the influence of some other worlds aren't they, probably seeing and hearing some stuff that isn't all there. That's hardly the issue though when the choice is the Lord's. Granted, Saul was a horrible ruler and his house fared worse, but still the appointment for deliverance came through his tribe. Then again comes the issue of ruling when under the influence of everything else. That's why the author, ruler, and administrator of the cup thereof absolutely must be the Lord.
Joseph found the same long ago when he stuck his cup in his younger brother's sack. Benjamin was the least troublesome of all the brothers and probably the most-loved. It speaks to a certain closeness in relations with others and way to borrow tact for want of a phrase that speaks well of their abilities. I mean, he had to be to survive life all by himself left with his brothers without Joseph around. No wonder dear old Jacob thought without him his whole world would collapse. Somebody ought to be like 'dear Jacob, you have nine or ten others' while Benjamin lived. Then too wasn't their bearer the Lord. Remember the government borne about on his shoulders speaks of a strong Lord indeed. Anyway though, I digress. The power of Benjamin lay in their closeness with others brought about in no small part by the cup and the burden that came from the Lord.
Their tribe was supposed to drive out those living still in the land. They didn't though, and just called the whole thing Jerusalem to this very day. It seemed like their issue was in no hurry to leave, being so called by the same. To this issue any daughter wishing to marry Benjamin came. Thus, the girl's strength and ability would be told in a dance at which Benjamin would in secret attend. If she showed the required characteristics and she was willing, he would carry her off. Carrying her off in that day of course, meant becoming a wife. Now that we've done, let's see what through the doorway will follow. Hopefully it's the Lord along with the rest of the house.
