Matthew 5
The Sage
And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
Oh, how wonderful it is being so taught of the Lord. It follows then that the saw way you see him is the same way you'll portray him then later. Though Jesus could definitely be teaching and preaching many things concerning the kingdom for it was his own to tell, was it not. The only difference was seeing the Lord in his glory was what made up the text. You almost could say it's the lens through which you'll view everything else through of a sort or the key that unlocks that door in the end. Though, the keys to the kingdom aren't physical are they, at least then not really. To Jesus the multitudes were as real as supposed having come out from thence even the leastest of those. The disciples pquite possibly though weren't seeing what of the kingdom. The mountain-top then to be recreated time and again was something of a theme of some sorts that echoed the law-giving experience with Moses, the Lord, and his glory. Could it be that those of his audience were the same ones he'd healed very much earlier. As Isaiah would bear witness to his power it's something with his rightful position throne in the bargain. Then again, he'd withdrawn from the crowd for a specific purpose to let the mountain hear him of course. Not that we're saying the Lord had any troubles in making himself heard once again. Still though, it's nice to know that he's got somewhat of the disciple-ship perspective. See, he didn't just call some men with natural giftings and talents to follow him and then cut out and run. It's not just capitalism central or even the enterprises being built of the kingdom. Rather, he's teaching everyone time and again no matter their natural learning or knowledge or even so as just of him.
The Scribe
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Right about here's the whole issue where most scholars and teachers would've rounded up these neat little phrases and headed them on out like a whole bunch of chickens just clucking on after. Sure, the Lord already did refer to Jerusalem as a city of the mother hen didn't he both time and again. It seems that oh how good our God is then to his people. Poverty though starts in the actions and reflects on outwards to the rest of the being. In fact, it's probably where he'd gotten more than a few of his disciples from in the bargain. I can count on one hand personally the number that had what you'd call a regular living. Though even in all that, still our God was just providing again for his people whether it's for their learning much later or just perhaps for their very next meal. In fact, having nothing down here and seeking him rather equates to owning everything there in the end. Perhaps you've heard some say that God's word is something true and for csure you can and should take it to the bank very much rather. Though I don't think that was quite what he meant when he started them like that in the middle. Sometimes along with the poverty comes loss then in general. In fact, it's part of the human condition in general. The meek and lowly too are hardly worth all that's becoming a person especially when these have been put down time and again. In fact, if we went purely off the physical descriptions, you'd miss out wouldn't you on all that our God has been doing both now and back then. Theirs mention of the earth isn't there at the end, a natural progression fo who knew about all the sorrows and troubles who shared them though not so nearly as well as the Lord. Indeed, he's the comfort ye of my people come into being all over again.
Above All
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Sot it appears almost as a hopeless sort of condition, the lot humanity speaking. The whole other thing that you'll note in the end is that our Lord is very much our very best Friend. Indeed, he's Savior indeed to all who'll come to him both now and again. You could say rather that the hungering and thirsting is not of this world though it comes before death still in the end. Then too, there's some merciful seen around who'll lend aid to the body and soul then too to trust these on back to him only so as and then. The pure in heart too are them that having been merciful have done more than cleansing their soul as in a whole body approach of just trusting the Lord. You'll wonder at that would you not that a just God allows all the bad things to have happened to humanity speaking throughout all the ages of men. Though on the flip side of things there's fulfillment at that matters. It's an experience though somewhat different at first, very much parallels that of the kingdom of course and so on it goes on up until glory were it not for the Lord in a matter of speaking. So it follows then that the filling is as unto the Lord and comes before showing mercy as the whole earth becomes full of the glory, that is to say the knowledge of God spreads around through the land.
The Very Much Wise
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men
Perhaps as Scripture would tell he came to the scholar, he came to the scribe, and above all the very much wise. Is it any wonder that in all of this our good God would provide. See, there's some peacemakers and some persecuted both time and again as those in this world, the kingdoms of men and there are those who would've endured the revilings much rather as unto him. The persecution and the prophecies too come in general as they with the Lord have met in the middle. In fact, it's this whole seeing the future business that gives us a way out and hope then in general. With it care must always be taken so as again to always see him in the picture, cause it's then a strong tower and a refuge that we run to unlike any other, much as he did in Hosea, the Lord will fulfill all his Word as it's been given to men.
On the flip side of the question, there's the children of God which weren't even before. It's almost like the Lord's been breathing life into the situation again as unto dust from the ground. My, it almost looks like God's making sons unto Abraham there once again or unless my eyes decieve me he's actually working. Indeed it is so, for theirs are the kingdom of Heaven just as though God's here giving his life for all of creation. In fact, it's whose sake it's all in cause he's God is he not and thus can do whatever pleases him time and again that his purposes might stand and that his Word would accomplish whatever he sent it for straight up in the end. In fact, the whole mission of earth is but to tell of his purpose and story while the heavens are filled with the glory. It's not for nothing is it that the story's been written on our hearts form the first sealed with his purpose and washed in the blood. So that should a few prophets enter into the midst either of the earth or from the far darker of men it's done so that all might stand before him without excuse there once again. The standing guilty before him then comes at the end just so our God can come through time and again. In fact, it's something of his saving much rather here on the earth whether now or in eternity proper but as always now unto him.
The Light Unto Men
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
It's a hard saying is it not that our God should thus come into the picture. He's telling us here that we're like the light, though he is the light himself as we'll see in John once again. He is the light of the world, and we are but made as a reflection or a shadow of that as in fact. So thus, if there's any light in us it's only but of him. The question too is how there's a whole city set on a hill that's thus being visible. I mean come on now, you don't mean to tell me the entirety of the region came and set on the hill just to hear the thus saith the Lord. He's drawing all men unto himself once again. Imagine all the lights come together as one. What a bright shining it would be lighting up the night so as all the way to glory. There in that mansion he's preparing for me, there's no need of sun or moon or any light at that time for the Lord himself goes before to make the way brighter until such a time as he should come in. There's very much a temptation though to get there and think as though we ourselves have made the brightness occur just at this time. It's the sin that felled the angels is it not, that little one of pride. I mean, the devil himself was once an angel of light or something so as it were back then in general. Only the Lord in his glory though is the cure that makes up the story. In fact, there's all sorts of lights, such as a candlestick expression meant to be kept continually burning. Though the candle may vary in form or in function, it's all just one big expression of seeing the Lord in his glory and so as what makes up the building.
The Destroyer of Men
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Then too, there's those that love destruction just for it's own sake time and again whether fulfilling the will of the Father or just as of men. Think about it though if you will for a moment that seeing the Lord in his glory is what makes up this story. In fact, when the lawgiver come as unto him shall the gathering of the people be as something that's changed from grace into glory, we'll see it all very much rather as then in the end as that of Christ our very best Friend. He's a guide though isn't he throughout the law and the prophets and all the stories that came to this particular time in the middle. There's no passing away then except that all be fulfilled, no matter what you'd want to do in a hurry. Just as John had said, every tree that brings not forth fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire. Though it's almost like God is saying that he's the Creator of all and Sustainer rather until such time as he makes himself visible. Then too will he be the judge of it all in the end. He's got that right doesn't he no matter what happens, whereas, or when. He's got the record too and knows all of the few down to the last little detail whether that of the scribe or the Pharisee or still too even just the least one of these. It remains still a thing to consider that God is sorting out the peoples who would not what he'd rather. It's best to do that is it not and so will everything work just as neatly as one who's writing grace from out of his glory. The only thing that follows then is trusting his place on back to the Lord.
The Slayer of Them
21 Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Well, it appears at long last that anger and cursing go hand in hand, in fact so very much so that there's a spirit at work behind it, isn't there, were it not for the Lord who's good all the time. He's both the city of refuge here in this text to which the righteous run to and are safe even though it's but a strong tower at first. You might not be righteous just yet, but you know when you've had a run in with the Lord as did the Prodigal Son, whatever you like to call him at this time, though he's not a prodigal for long is he at least not where his father's stepped in. In fact, all we like sheep have seemed to wandered off and went our own way. It follows though that some of us like to think of the sheep on the mountains and sheep in the valleys and sheep in the fields but what about where the sheep have wandered into the desert or the pigpens of sin. What about when the sheep look very much like just about anything other than something that's good for helping you sleep. It's almost enough to make anyone furious isn't it whether at the sin or the appearance of such in the end especially after you've met up with the Father our very best Friend. He's a Friend who sticks closer than a brother isn't he as David would have said. Though it's not testimony time at least not as of just yet. He's also the one who answers the just and so as will clean up our mess. He's the God of reconciliation there in the end. He's the God of all who would come to him in prayer as the Scripture has said or is there in the end with his altar and above all an answer to prayer. So it remains, if there's any good in the house it's only of him. He's the only one with an answer to the righteous blood shed of Abel or the one with the answers to where you are going and just as the prophets before you had found, he's the only one who can make that scroll flying out across the whole world turn back again. In fact, he's the judge of our hearts and our lives and the changer of men. What follows then is nothing more than fulfillment at first and then a whole supernatural deliverance matter.
The Commandments of Men
25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
Ah yes, our God's back in the house again isn't he and this time he's just come on back in with ought of his Son. Remember how that in times before, there was trouble with the adversary based on the teachings of law and the prophets. Though what got in the way of them above all were the teachings of men. In fact, the Lord called them blind guides for when these led the blind, they'd both fall into a ditch. That is to say, not catching sight then of him and allowing for his guidance and leading is what makes the rest of the house follow on after right into sin. In fact, there's far worse places than that where this thing is going even to the judgement and then. The only thing worse than judging off of what God has said time and again is taking his place rather as unto ourselves and on a far greater level even than what any has seen. It's almost like taking the place isn't it from sinner straight on into glory without even stopping by or considering the Lord at the door. He's the Judge isn't he, my Friend, so as and then. In fact, the only thing that follows is righteousness on the inward parts just as God the Father also had intended and commanded all men. Seeing the Lord in his place and putting him there time and again is the only cure for this thing here then. It has to be everyday a continual abiding just as those in the city of refuge that weren't allowed to leave ever for anything until the Savior's returning. It's the only thing that saves men from all sin is just to keep on abiding in him. He's the One then who'll keep you from trouble then in the end or even the look as one would upon the serpent, as Moses had lifted him up in the wilderness so long ago as the only thing that would save from within. Though it wasn't so was it, for just as Moses lifted up the serpant in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up. Better still to just put the Lord back in his rightful place from where he sits on the mountain as head of that city and so on as unto glory.
The Radical
29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
My, that's a long section and there's a lot still to consider. Where we're at right now on the journey is all the different types of people that are found in the world, if you will once again. It seems that the Lord isn't just interested in external appearances but that of the heart of the matter, that which really ought to be much rather just surrendered to him. Though when we talk about it really, surrendering your heart isn't altogether as Scriptural of a notion as some things would really end up. As Revelation would say, he stands outside the hearts door and knocks and if any man opens the door, he will come in and sup with them and they with him. In other words, it indicates a fellowship of one with the next, of this life to the eternity with only but that of the Lord. So then it would follow that Jesus naturally has a question to put to the issue of what light to do with darkness or anything rather. Moreover what fellowship, as Paul would raise the same matter, has Christ to do with Belial instead. That is to say, there's a spirit at work behind all this and it's very much not that of the Lord. Consider this if you will of Abigail and her former husband before she had joined up with David, his men, and his crew. I mean, just maybe it wasn't that but rather just to the work of the Lord. The Belial though spoken of then came in the form of Nabal raising his voice that perhaps his goods shouldn't be spent in such a cause as feeding the people. In fact, when news of it came that Abigail had snuck off to pay tithes maybe of mercy and maybe just of seeing the Lord in his glory, the shock was so much he died. All that's to say that there remains very much a seeing of Christ in his glory here once again. Perhaps it's an overused expression to you in particular, yet once you catch sight of it, oh my friends, you'll want for nothing ever again. Thus, the only cure for these Belial expressions, of contradictions as the prophets had said, and also perhaps just your own personal sin remains that of only him then. So then you ought rather to make double sure it's his Word that you're uttering and not just your that matters there in the end. It follows that the only solution for where sin has offended now and again, causing a severance from God in particular or maybe just an interruption of the eternal Gospel and word that he has in store, is not just a hacking off of the arms and some limbs. Rather, it's much like the whole principle of divorcement in general. You can't be married to the world, in it and of it, and still a friend of God in the end. See, it's either his way or no way at all and it just so happens it's his way you're standing in now at the end. It shouldn't be that way at all should no matter what follows, whereas, or when. Though the principle of spiritual adultery to the world, the flesh, and to sin it so follows shouldn't taken as lightly there in the end. In fact, if it's what it takes for everything to be as unto the Lord, do it so now as unto him then. The only thing occurring at that point should be Christ as the centre, not the stone the builders rejected taking over the middle, the whole, and the being thereof and so on till glory.
The Very Much Practical
33 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
The communication too should be as such things so often are well worth the talking. I mean, it's the Great King of whom we'd be speaking to in a minute if not listening now so as into becoming though perhaps not actualized as of just yet. That is to say there is some formation still to be seen of the Son. As Paul would testify till Christ be formed in you as well. So then it follows as after the glory as these sorts of things ought to be really. The trouble with some of us though is we so often have all sorts of messed up ways of the thinking. As in James, we'd murder and kill but then can't even source our finding for still. In fact, Christ our source of all things added to us once again is talking now. Though how we can't hear him for our much speech and promises and vileness of thinking. In fact, it's almost a taking his place in the matter isn't it really and truly on after. As James would've said we really should've trusted him better rather to be merely tempted of him then instead. It's not as if God just goes around though a-testing his people. I mean, not in the way that you're thinking that much for sure. In fact, when the Lord God came walking in the Garden of Eden it was to see how that man had been doing not the other way around as it was there in the end. Being tested of God then is where you'd gets this place and understanding of yours in the future. Though it follows that the only cure for such is only in doing his will. As Scripture says so often as well he came not to do his own will but rather that of him who'd sent him as one that was now called into being. It's very much a perspective of "I came to do your own will oh God in the volume of your book it is written. So then it should follow nothing but a yeah Lord your servant heareth then as well for the Lord is very much not in the business of just now hurting his people. You can find confidence then that only comes from simply resting in him. In fact, whether you've got hair loss or it's as of just now turning gray from the stress, it's still his house in case you'd forgotten that rather as unto him then. So also does he sit as Isaiah once saw high and lifted up. His throne it seems hasn't been abandoned in the slightest bit in the end simply because he's been there all the time. How faithful is God to his children who does just what he's said time and again. I mean, because it's all of him rather then in the end. In fact, it's more than that rather but a sure quiet certainty on which does rest but his name. In fact, should you one day tell the mountain to jump and find that it moves, it's through faith and not of yourselves rather but the gift of God then instead. I mean, it follows that you don't want anyone boasting of that in the end save in what God has done that's just now appeared very much as one that has come into being.
The Facing an Evil
38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.
41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
It's almost like he calls these into being, the worlds and whatever's not to make whatever does appear visible. Though, it's not like on an Abracadabra magician's assistant sort of basis in trend. Remember how too that he'd once been named the beginning and the ending, himself the most visible being foremost of being the Savior of men. Certainly I know some would've interpreted this thusly as just simply something that's done to the body. It's almost as though the Lord said to do it and thus it is so in outward appearance and actions with scarcely a thought of him in particular. Certainly not in any way for the misusers of these as Scripture would put it in Philippians 1:28-29 in any way that would've simply been a glorifying the Savior. Indeed, if anything's done at all it's not so we can boast save in the death of Christ our Lord. In fact, that's all the law demanded quite simply and truly is perfection then in the matter at hand. Almost as the Scripture once said to be ye perfect even as the Lord himself was perfect instead. I mean, with that sort of matter at hand, if follows a what are we doing it for in the end. I mean, if his grace is enough for the present and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteousness for isn't he faithful and just to do it so just as he's said regardless of whether it's astray or just of our own way. Come on now, the Lord isn't calling you to be a perfect people just as the Pharisees before had so often tried to be. He's calling out a peculiar people all for the praise of his glory. Sure it can mean strange as some would've liked to imagine but there's a something more visible going on here again. It's a focus on where you're going much as did Abraham who'd followed the Lord not knowing whither he went then nor so too to where he was going instead. So too these sojourned as strangershaving endured seeing him who above all is visible, that is he lives just in case you were wondering and it's all just for the praise of his glory. I almost wish you could catch sight of such really and truly. Perhaps it's a perspective like this that allowed Steven the martyr and apostle then later to look up at the heavens and just to see the Lord up there watching. Then too, he wasn't just watching but rather waiting arms outstretched to welcome his child there home in the end. Perhaps you don't know of whom you're serving just yet and maybe too haven't stopped to consider. I mean he's not that unjust Master surely who'd just require those who'd serve him to do so then endlessly. If you should find yourself in these sorts of places as with the servant who'd buried his talent, perhaps it's now time to dig it forth from the ground where you've laid it, unbury the napkin, and just to trust the Lord with it truly. Just when you think you can't go no further, it could be that our God'll prove you wrong in the focus as he did over here with his drawing as he did with the woman taken in adultery and the writing as uncertainty rather in the sand only so as and then.
The Desolate Rather
42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. 43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
In fact, it's become a matter larger than any by far than this now. It seems as we'd last seen in the text that the evilness came and demanded all of your time and attention. Then after it's come for your things then instead, you know the substance of your house with which God has blessed you to be able to do any such. It's almost like the matter of tithes really and truly, though the focus seems misplaced at times and not as much certainly. See, with the tithes that've been rendered, wasn't there always a storehouse as unto the Lord. It's something to which people have taken their longings time and again because you already know that the being is only of him. So then it follows that life is provided as with him all things moved out from the center. Just as he'd sent the rain on the just and the unjust time and again, it appears there's only but a hope so in him. It's almost as though the bad guys had come and raided the everything central for the people rather and also an as unto the Lord. It's enough to make anyone lack isn't it somewhat for substance time and again. Though what you would know rather is how our God continually provides for his children. It's much like this isn't it as the Psalms would've said how that David hadn't ever seen the righteous perish nor his seed begging bread. In particular it's where this focus meets right in the middle that it's only just of him time and again. Since God is good to all of his children, and they're expected to be representing him well to the world, it follows at times the ministry doesn't always occur where it's convenient the most especially when it's as Paul says in Philippians 1:28-29 a matter of what once were the enemies coming to faith in our Lord. Though the purpose and calling, see, it's all just of him. It's better just to trust all our ways to the Lord so that these might've been established time and again. See, in all this he's pulling some people out and turning all things around just for the praise of his glory. It follows then that some of us are better off doing good and then trusting in him for the providing time and again cause he does it all rather, though I can't tell you how just exactly.
The Called Beloved Yet Unto Him
46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Then at long last the switch from grace unto glory begins as though contained in the Father's hands there once again. After so long, through the various states of the body and mind, the actions done in the body and the relative goodness and badness of such so as when is it ever not as unto the Lord. In fact, for those of you who were wondering, there's rewards to be had surely when our God will call home all his children. Whether together forever or just as of now and so truly, there's the rewards and saluting reserved for who have mattered the most. Indeed, were it not for the perfection of God there at the end, I'm quite afraid that no one would've survived it rather were it not for the greatest of all which is Christ in the end. In fact, he's not like the hypocrites rather who would've made up their glory instead and then take to the street corners and announcement booths of the table that's so often to be seen there with the Lord. Rather, he knows what we need before we even ask it, doesn't he then in particular. It would follow then that what's said is true and not just as supposed. So often our viewpoint gets messed up and understanding missed in the relative thinking. Instead though, he's the God who's made your klife and mine and from out of nothing the everything there had been formed. Safe to say that our God knows what's to be best done with his people being himself theCreator of such and the sustainer thereof and too much rather until such a time come and the shadows flee away we'll get him with the book of decisions much like the alley from whence it was named. Don't believe me, just you wait. We''ll get to more on that in a bit.
