Perspective Shifts

Back in those days though, Solomon's workers would've been paid out in coin. At least they were in the times of our Lord. It's much the same principle, see. Back in those times though, it would've been paid out in coin likely only enough for each man to be affording of food, shelters, and clothes. Then again, how much was each man paid back in those times? Let's say each coin equaled a days wage almost. It only makes sense for all of these to be paid out as such. Don't you see how the inflation that large amounted things like the dollar produces can prove to be harmful of course? Transferring these back into coins actually produces a much better sort of approach. That way the economy doesn't look like it's perpetually on the brink of disaster that happens naturally as large numbers are first introduced. In much smaller funds, it's only the sum of about 260,000 coins for Solomon's monthly hiring needs, while still quite a sum isn't as large or as threatening at first. Considering too that it takes about 100 much smaller coins known as the penny to make up a dollar, I'd say you've got the better end of the times. Back a few years ago, everything was much more reasonably priced and perhaps based off the smaller coins that made up the larger units from which the dollar consisted. Obviously, not to be teaching economy lessons, but your own currency will vary greatly in it's estimation or value attached to these different types of amounts. Let's say you could have all your smallest economy values known as the money together in a pile on the right. Do you know what the names are for these values and how much each token genders? By the term gender, I don't mean whether it's male or female. Coins aren't in the habit of taking on physical gender. Rather, they have a set denominator or common amount. For instance, in my currency it's a penny which is the smallest amount of the dollar. It's written something like this $0.01 and I'll need 100 of them to come up with this $1.00. The much larger category, the dollar gets put over here on the left. It doesn't make sense in terms of the dollars and cents. We've also got on the right-hand side the dimes and nickels as well. If you don't know what the equivalent is in your currency, it's perfectly fine. I'd just rather you found that out first before attempting much of this everything else. Over here, the dimes can be expressed as a $0.10 or ten cents of a dollar. It takes exactly ten of these bad boys to make up a dollar or ten pennies to make up a dime. There's the nickel in waiting over here too. It'll look like $0.05 once it's written. Five pennies go into a larger one of these and you'll find two of them in a ten or a dime. Given that ten dimes makes a dollar, you'll need twice as many or twenty nickels to get the same type of result. There's one more piece though that's been just in waiting. It's the quarter or $0.25 cent piece proper. Two dimes and a nickel can equal it's sum along with twenty-five same total pennies. Since it's expressed as a fraction or ΒΌ, you'll find exactly four of these come out to a whole one of these $1.00. Back in the good old days, so they say, these tokens were used for something besides just spare change. You could've actually grabbed a whole handful of them and gone grocery shopping. Granted, it might not have bought a whole lot, but it would've been enough for one or two meals. Wages also were paid out in similar sorts with good money being made for just a few of these tokens. You might be over here wondering what's happened. That's corporate greed for you and also some pride. What happened was those big men in business just decided that wasn't enough. That's when prices rose and wages along with them before everything sort of just fell. You'll see a similar result told of back in the days of the Lord. There's a table where I've expressed the result and also added some space for you to write down your own currency small coins and also some figures.

For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.

2 And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.

10 But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.

11 And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house,

12 Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.
But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?

14 Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee.

15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?
