Better Gone Missing

12/16/2024
For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.

6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

Hebrews 4:4-6

How many of you know the old gospel song that goes 'there's healing for your sorrows' and such is all well, good, fine, and wonderful to be sure. For so is being brought forth the rest of the Lord. I know at times like these you must think him thirsty, tired, or quite possibly hungry here on from there. Consider this though that the Lord in his mercy is very much not like us nor does does he leave us alone. Just as David once said that he who neither slumbers nor sleeps has come back to the house so it should seem to us who do both I'm afraid. Much as some of us rather dislike the topic of getting some rest, yet when it comes to the Lord he very much neither grows weary nor has the time of day for rest at least not in a while. So then you might wonder what of the building not seen here once before. The issue very much is one of the building though the Lord as his never grows tired or weary nor yet has need of the rest. Might well you wonder how that he is seen here taking time apart from his works on the Sabbath as the day of his rest. Though you and I may often differ on matters of agreement when it comes to the Sabbath day, the Lord very much takes such matters seriously of that is our salvation secure. See, that of the shift though perhaps it's not being seen because it takes some time to be worked out in the natural world as at first. Remember too how that Christ on the cross had said "Father unto your hands I commend my spirit" as seen once before. Indeed, between that and the rest promised to the thief who repented is seen of the first. Though Paradise was mentioned, who possibly knows the depth and riches of the goodness of God with his ways past finding out. Perhaps it does not seem like rest to you very much from the start with all that labor of suffer and dying as promised the people to send the good Lamb. Yet in this are the promises seen being known as so from the beginning of time. See, there has never been when our God has suffered any to go missing or broken nor gone from his house be it ever so long. For when a man's ways please the Lord, he makes even your enemies to be at peace with themselves. Simply put, the Lord suffers not any to perish though perhaps you know not what was done from the first. But that is why he is God then you see. It is he that makes the end from the beginning be known unto man and so makes all our days yet to praise. It seems almost inconceivable that such a thing would transition to the cross as though some strange thing had been shown. Could it be that of the new perspective hidden in between what we can see of the right now and what our God is working just yet. Sure it might not look like very much rest to you while our Lord hung there and died. Yet when you consider it was merely a doorway to the greater through which eternity flowed that is to say it allowed the things unseen to come on back in. Think of it really as our God commended into the hands of the Father the things of the Son. Here is it not for nothing that the blood of Ephraim has run through the house as it is seen before the Lamb in silent testimony up in Heaven to the seed of their brethren. That is to say, these were bought of the Lamb, even as Jeremiah 7:14-15 would testify later. But then again, we see at this time, the uncertainty that Shiloh had brought to the House. Indeed, such is very much a situation as … once found of the prophets being brought in to inquire of the Lord. The question was then asked at the time whether or not the glory departed would at last be re-shown to that of the people again. Though in reality the question was more being asked of the Lord what he would do for the state of the body after leaving off that of the soul. See, it was very much a perspective of Christ in the building though not recognized by any as it appears. Might well some of you know how not to go tempting the Lord just as a whole generation of them did back in the past. Indeed, in the midst of the desert wanderings from there and back again was there no rest of God to be had in the house. For he had hardly gone missing as some would suppose but rather that those who should know ought of the Lord do not as much as any supposed. It should come as no shock to you really that the God keeping the building is the same one who keeps all his people though perhaps he has need not of any of the devices or inventions of man. Indeed, he needs not any I suppose as the same God who brings rest to his people must be first trusted instead. In All this is he working though we cannot see the way ahead. In all this our God is still good and as such must simply be taken at his Word and so in trusting believe. For his yoke is easy and his burden light so it seems. Only then will we find rest to our souls just as once promised so long ago. Be it now, or the future no matter how long, rest assured that our God is still in the business of doing good to his people.

14 Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.

15 And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim.

Jeremiah 7:14-15

Here Comes the business of not trusting God as fully as once supposed in other things that we ought say perhaps of the building. Notice that the house still as it stood could not hardly be containing the Lord. Yet as so often the problem with some of us really, we are all too prone to trust in the building, the place, the binding, and with them the fathers. Far better still to have trust in the Lord which is far more than just a faith as it seems of first coming to God with a he is and that he rewards them that seek him diligently then too as well. For is it not a misguided focus, as the children once did, seeking for only the blessings he brings. So too did Shiloh represent such though it spoke far more of the Lord. If the Lord then was so in doing his Spirit how much more will he not do that of his people, that of his body, for far less than just simply a trust in himself. Imagine then a house being made up though yet not of the building. Indeed, for so can it hardly be seen since the concept of trust was first said then too was it followed by even that of himself. Before trust then must come a not seeing yet believing in the promises of God as yes and in him amen as Hebrews 11:1 had once said. So beyond that lies what then of when the blood is not seen by that of the building it just so appears. Herein lies the mystery of the casting out of sight even that of the blind. Could it be that with our limited human perception and that of our misery we fail to see what God's doing and with it the future. For this cause then has the Lord to cast out all of the brethren not because he was somehow desirous of hurting his people but rather that the glory may be even that of the Lord. Look with me now if you will at this just for a moment. It requires a perspective shift to see such for sure, one of Heaven's gaze with nothing wanted or missing or broken to be found in the whole house as it remains though perhaps just a seed. How many of you know what seeds have to do once they are planted as they spring all the more forth from the earth. As Scripture has said unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies it abides alone. Herein is the whole house of the building being seen as those planted in death by that of the Father. Only is he not our eternally good Father this God who has just now come back to the house. Just as Lazarus once found, there remains the never too late of the Lord. So then such a mystery as is this death though one without their identity found in Christ alone as really was their want, mission, and focus being even that of himself. Small wonder then that as the church which knew not his name, these were cast out as though spewed up on the shore. Yet in all this though is our God not done with his people. Soon will we see in all our life's stories have been made to ring with his praise and how too that he has just not left us alone.
