A Falling Much Rather
And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
Hebrews 6:5-7
Herein is there recorded in his blessed Word that a falling away is possible both in this life and in the one to come. It has to be so really for what else would the Lord have made mention of it for then. Was it not for nothing as in the garden that our Lord had so often labored and prayed. Was it not for our sins he had suffered, bled so, and died. Was it not for our sins that even now is alive. See, must it not needs be so both now and again though when it comes on down to it really there is an issue with the again part of the text. It seems if there is anything good in our midst it is only of him. Else why would he have made mention of it in all of his prayers lest by chance the displies be found to be sleeping before him then in the end. Though they were so often he came, still he had the power to awaken these from wherever they slumbered no matter how deep. So too it seems then that these had some other nutrition. Is it not hard to taste and see that the Lord is good here before us. His power and glory makes him such that we know though perhaps not just the whole of the tale. Notice some also that have drunken deep as of the wrath of the Lord. For the taste leads indeed to the feast and the marriage supper with it even that of the least. So it seems at such a time as this really that the good word should have come as forth from the Lord. Though it is his Word all along was it not truly and not just something that some of us have mishandled and so have just now been in falling asleep. Now it is not just that the Lord seeks to confuse all his children. Much rather though the world does so as unto the wide way and the narrow have you entered there once more as though seeking the Father's house above and also that of his love. How many know of the good words of the this world and so too all the hope it could bring, how too it would not be sufficient to bring the Great King. It seems in the tasting and seeing there comes also some testing along with it rather. Such is where some have been in falling away from the knowledge thereof. Though it should be that our loses none of these that but come to him then in prayer. It is his speciality is it not, his signature move very much rather when he has us all engraven on the palms of his hands, written down in the Lamb's book of life, or just in standing before him there at the end. So intimately too does he know both your life and mine being the Creator, the Sustainer of such through life and beyond. At such a time as this it should come as no surprise to these here his children that his supply and his power is as limitless as these all are in the end. For when your source determines your destiny or rther where you are getting it from so also determines your supply. It seems then should there be any excellence, any supply, any praise, any glory, or any power at all in the end all these things come only from him. Nor is that all the whole end of the matter. Herein does the text speak of a falling away and a renewal thereof and how impossible it is in going from one life and into the next, or from the places you are to wherever you have been. Yet is it not a certainty that the God who holds us all in his hands is capable of keeping us as unto him. So then it is seen that if these should fall, only the Lord God himself is able to save. Though it is very much not as some denominations have said wherein the renewal follows after a crucifying afresh our Lord. Nor has our God ever suffered at such a time as this not for being without nor there on the street. That is not in the hearts and lives of them that have known him as such and then. Nor is the Lord simply in the habit of sending his Son once and for all to die for our sin. Considering that his passion and earthly ministry is not repeated every four to thirty-three years such a thought is blasphemous practically speaking. Nor should it appear that all of us should have to suffer for what God already did. For if there was anything at all we were able to do to save ourselves there towards this end do you not think that God would have done it already between the sacrifice of animals in atonement for sin. So can it be that ignoring the Word produces some strange results that you would not have otherwise known. Well might you be troubled as Herod once was not having so known the ways of the Lord. Should you find yourself though in trouble then once again either by your own making or else that of your sin is there a renewal to be seen yet of him. So often as I have once said, there is no pit that is too dark, no mountain too high, no valley so wide that our God is not there once again. Nor is there anything too hard for his love to just rescue you from As taken back to his Heavenly home then in love or back to the earth there in general where you will find he has maken his throne. But for those of you who know better having heard all of the Scripture, doubtless you will recognize the earth as his footstool as seen once before. What then at such a time as this is it doing out of service to him. How I would like to say there is an exaltation coming for the people of God as when every mountain will be brought low and every valley raised up as though from out of the dust. Though when it comes to matters such as this of human salvation only our God knows there before him or when. It is an impossibility sure but how many of you know that there are no impossibilities when it comes to our Lord. So then if we are saved at all it is but only of him and not so that any of us should have boasted there in particular. Notice how too that the earth does appear as one which standeth in need of the Lord. Even now it waits for the rains of blessing, of provision, of protection, and of cleansing to fall down from Heaven that his Word might not return to him void but would accomplish wherever he sent it to do there in full even so do the rains follow him and do all his good will as though simply obeying just the command of the Lord.
